Fuad and Tanya

With the collapse of the former Soviet Union in the early 1990s, Azerbaijan, a former satellite country, adjacent to Russia on the Caspian Sea, was blessed with Christian missionaries who brought the good news that Jesus saves. A church was planted in the city of Baku.

The Bible had been forbidden under communism. From childhood, Fuad and Tanya had longed to read the Bible and hear of its prophecies. Hearing the gospel in a church service, they received Christ as their personal Savior.

Since 1992, Fuad has been actively involved with the church, fervently studying the Bible, leading music, and speaking in church services. He has become one of the local indigenous leaders with the ability to present the Gospel in his native Azerbaijani language.

He graduated from Bible College in 1997, he was ordained in 1998 and became the pastor of the church.

As a church planter, his vision is to develop new churches while he raises up new disciples and develops Bible college courses in the Azerbaijani language. Please pray for this couple’s vision to reach men and women with the gospel in Azerbaijan.
