Montreal, Canada:
Louis has been doing missionary work since the late seventies. (Janey worked as secretary for her pastor in England.) Louis began Bible studies in Cape Code, New Jersey and planted a church in Montréal, Canada. Janey did missions work on Jersey Island off the coast of England for three months in the seventies.
France:
After they were married in 1981, Louis and Janey DeMeo moved to southern France where they planted a Church, Bible College & Christian Day School. They spend 22 years ministering in France and from that work—vua students who graduated from the Bible College—churches were planted in Western Africa (Togo, Gabon, Ivory Coast, Benin), Europe (Switzerland, Albania, Romania and in other parts of France including Paris).
California:
The DeMeos moved to California in 2004 where they first taught at the Calvary Chapel Bible College for two years, and continued evangelizing, teaching and discipling people. Louis holds six weekly men’s groups/home churches in various towns. For ten years Louis and Janey have mentored young married couples under a local church, and generally mentored and counseled couples and single people.
Italy:
In 2023, God called the DeMeos to move to Northern Italy to evangelize, disciple, mentor… (They live and minister there about six months per year – based in a village near the French border and Monaco.) Their main ministry is to Italians and French but they are also reaching Italians, Germans, Dutch, Brits, Australians, French people and even Americans—all in this one village and its surroundings. The couple also come alongside two Italian churches where Louis preaches from time to time.
The National Prayer Breakfast:
Another of the DeMeo’s ministries is to head up a team of volunteers to serve dignitaries and leaders from around the world at the National Prayer Breakfast week-long events. This exclusive event takes place in Washington, DC every February for a week. They have been doing this ministry for over 20 years, since they were “persecuted” by the French government.
The DeMeos' vision is to lead as many people to Jesus as possible and to disciple them. Their audience includes agnostics, atheists, unsaved Catholics and even former cult-members. Much of their ministry is around food. When people come to their house for dinner, they often stay 6 and even 7 hours asking questions about the Gospel.
Sports Ministry: As an avid surfer, Louis meets many surfers and has started a surfer ministry to Italian & French surfers in Italy. (In the eighties, Louis brought Christian Surfers to Biarritz in southern France where he used to do surf camps with the youth.)
In Big Bear mountains in California, each winter Louis teaches handicaped people to ski and snowboard. Many are autistic and some have physical handicaps. He always talks to them about Jesus.
The DeMeos sense that God has prepared the way and opened hearts—and that they are right where God wants them.
Janey is the founder-director of Orphans First with children’s programs in India, Mexico & Ukraine. Details at orphansfirst.org.
